Congratulations to University of Waterloo doctoral student John Christopher Houston Loudfoot, winner of a Medieval Academy of America's Schallek Award. The Schallek award is co-sponsored by the MAA and the Richard III Society and supports PhD research in the British Isles with a one year $40 000 USD Fellowship.  Mr. Loudfoot won for a project entitled "Medieval Mine Waste and Social Troubles".
